Skinvive™

Skinvive™ is an innovative injectable product made to enhance cheek skin smoothness and help the skin retain moisture. Men and women experiencing dry skin and uneven skin texture can benefit from this new and exciting injectable treatment at Prysi Cosmetic Surgery.

What is Skinvive?

Skinvive by Juvéderm is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid microdroplet injectable. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule that can hold up to 100x its weight in water. It’s important to note that this is not a dermal filler. Instead, Skinvive provides the skin with intense hydration to increase skin smoothness and moisturize dehydrated skin. It also repairs and protects the skin barrier by enhancing the skin’s ability to retain moisture.

“I am very pleased with the results of my surgery and with the follow-up services that Dr. Prysi has provided to me. Dr. Prysi is very up-to-date with his techniques and I felt that he went out of his way to explain to me what he would be doing and why. Also, he and his staff made me feel very comfortable in responding to any follow-up questions that I had. ”

“Dr. Prysi performed extensive work on me ten years ago. The results were remarkable and long-lasting to the extent that I did not even consider going to anyone else all these years later.”

“Meeting with Dr Prysi has been very easy. He listens to your questions and explains procedures. He works very well with his team at their office. Dr. Prysi seminars have been very helpful in learning the procedures and good skin care. The staff is very helpful in follow through and letting you know about what to expect. ”

Who is a Good Candidate for Skinvive?

The best candidates for Skinvive are healthy adults aged 21 or older who are concerned with dehydrated skin, rough skin texture, fine lines, and wrinkles. Patients of all skin types and skin tones can benefit from Skinvive cosmetic treatments. Since hyaluronic acid is a natural substance, this injectable is safe for almost all patients. However, the Skinvive formula contains lidocaine so patients with a history of severe allergies should inform Dr. Prysi at their consultation. If you have a skin infection, active acne, or cold sores, you will have to wait to receive treatment.

If volume loss and deep facial wrinkles are your primary concern, we can recommend hyaluronic acid fillers as an alternative or in combination with your Skinvive treatment.

How is Skinvive Performed?

Skinvive is an injectable treatment that takes less than 30 minutes to perform in our comfortable Naples office. Our injectors will use a fine needle to inject the hyaluronic acid microdroplets into multiple areas in the cheeks. Because lidocaine is included in the formula, you will experience little to no discomfort.

Results and Recovery

Mild swelling and bruising may occur around the injection sites but these symptoms will improve within a few days. We recommend that patients avoid sun exposure and strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment to limit these side effects. You can see some immediate improvements in your skin’s texture and tone but complete results may take a few weeks to develop as the hyaluronic acid is absorbed into the skin. Patients can expect to see smoother and more radiant skin for six months after their Skinvive injections.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I avoid after Skinvive?

Sun exposure, strenuous exercise, and alcohol consumption should be avoided for 24 hours to reduce swelling and bruising. Patients should also avoid touching or rubbing the injection sites.

How often will I need to get Skinvive injections?

Most patients will see results for up to six months. After this time, patients can receive additional injections to maintain their glowing, smooth skin. Repeated injections will also help to maintain skin health and hydration.

Is Skinvive the same as filler?

Skinvive is focused on rehydrating and retexturing the skin while dermal fillers add volume to the face and recounter certain areas like the cheekbones, jawline, and chin.

How many syringes of Skinvive do I need?

For optimal treatment, most patients receive one syringe of Skinvive on each side of their face.

Does Skinvive stimulate collagen?

Collagen is a protein that gives the skin volume and elasticity. There has been some recent evidence that hyaluronic acid (found in Skinvive) can encourage new collagen production.

How does Skinvive work?

Skinvive uses hyaluronic acid that binds and attracts water molecules to boost hydration in the skin and provide a more radiant complexion.

How long do the results last?

The results of Skinvive typically last up to six months, with repeated treatment needed 2-3 times a year to maintain the results.

What are the side effects of Skinvive?

Skinvive comes with very few side effects. You may notice some swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness at the injection site.

Can Skinvive be combined with other treatments?

Absolutely! Skinvive can be combined with Botox, other Juvederm injections, and any of the cosmetic procedures we offer at Prysi Cosmetic Surgery.

When can I wear makeup after Skinvive injections?

You’ll want to wait at least 24 hours after your Skinvive injections before applying makeup to give your skin time to heal.
