Chemical Peels
Naples, FL

For more than 100 years, chemical peels have created an even and controlled shedding of damaged skin cells. Each year, thousands of these treatments are performed in the United States, including Naples, Florida. In the office of Dr. Mark Prysi, a chemical peel is applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells—tightening the skin, reducing wrinkling and restoring a more youthful appearance.

“I am very pleased with the results of my surgery and with the follow-up services that Dr. Prysi has provided to me. Dr. Prysi is very up-to-date with his techniques and I felt that he went out of his way to explain to me what he would be doing and why. Also, he and his staff made me feel very comfortable in responding to any follow-up questions that I had. ”

“My sister recommended Dr. Prysi. From first contact with his staff through surgery ... the experience was amazing. Made me feel unique and like a work of art.”

“I appreciate Dr. Prysi for his ability & helpful advice to me. His entire staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoy coming to his office because I know he can & will help me.”

What can a chemical peel do for me?

Chemical peels can be done on the face, neck or hands. They can be used to:

  • Reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth
  • Treat wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging
  • Improve the appearance of mild scars
  • Treat certain types of acne
  • Reduce age spots, freckles, and dark patches (melasma) due to pregnancy or taking birth control pills
  • Improve the look and feel of skin

It’s important to remember that a chemical peel is not a substitute for a facelift or a brow lift. It cannot correct excessively wrinkled or sagging skin. But, in many cases, a chemical peel is performed in conjunction with these procedures for a fresher and more youthful appearance. Dr. Prysi offers several kinds of medical-grade chemical peels made by SkinMedica® and Glytone®.

Illuminize Peel

Appropriate for first-time chemical peel patients or patients looking for a gentle superficial peel, this non-invasive chemical peel utilizes a novel approach to chemical peeling with a newer generation of alpha-hydroxy acids (mandelic and malic acid) in combination with phytic acid and commonly used peeling agents (salicylic acid and resorcinol) to maximize skin rejuvenating effects with low irritation.

The Illuminize Peel:

  • Enhances skin glow and radiance
  • Helps restore a more youthful appearance
  • Improves clarity, color and skin texture
  • Minimal downtime and discomfort
  • Little or no visible peeling

What is an Illuminize peel?

An Illuminize Peel is a gentle chemical peel from SkinMedica. This peel is designed to improve skin texture, tone, and radiance for a smoother and softer appearance.

How does an Illuminize Peel work?

During treatment, a gentle chemical solution is applied to the face. It exfoliates the top layers of skin, promoting the growth of new, healthier skin cells. The rapid cell turnover causes peeling, which reveals a rejuvenated layer of skin.

What skin concerns does an Illuminize peel treat?

It helps with mild skin imperfections, such as fine lines, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. The gentle nature of this peel makes it safe for almost all skin types and concerns.

Is there any downtime after an Illuminize Peel?

There is typically no downtime, and you can return to your normal activities immediately after the treatment. You may experience mild peeling in the days following treatment, but this should not keep you from your daily activities.

How many treatments are needed for optimal results?

While you may see some improvement after one treatment, a series of peels is usually recommended for the best results. Typically, patients will need a series of three or more treatments.

Vitalize Peel

The Vitalize Peel is ideal for treating aging, melasma, sun damaged and acne prone skin. It contains a proprietary blend of ingredients to help rejuvenate the skin and achieve visible improvement after one treatment, with optimal results after a series of treatments. The Vitalize Peel combines resorcinol, lactic, salicylic and retinoic acid to offer a dramatic improvement in texture and tone. The renewal process stimulates collagen production, improves pigmentation, acne and melasma. Your skin will appear healthier and more youthful with minimal downtime.

What is a Vitalize Peel?

A Vitalize Peel is a medium-strength chemical peel designed to improve skin texture, tone, and clarity. Medium peels treat deeper past the superficial layer of skin but are still more gentle than a deep chemical peel.

How does a Vitalize Peel work?

A Vitalize Peel penetrates past the skin's surface to exfoliate dead skin cells and stimulate collagen production. This treatment involves three different solutions: the prep solution, the peeling solution, and the retinol solution.

What skin concerns does a Vitalize Peel treat?

A Vitalize Peel can effectively target mild to moderate skin imperfections. Some of these concerns can include fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage.

Is there any downtime after a Vitalize Peel?

Downtime after a Vitalize Peel is very minimal. Mild to moderate peeling and redness can occur for a few days following treatment.

How many Vitalize Peels are needed for optimal results?

The number of peels needed for optimal results can change from person to person, depending on the severity of their concerns. A series of three treatments spaced three to four weeks apart is typically recommended for the best results.

Rejuvenize Peel

The most intensive peel, Rejuvenize Peel, contains salicylic acid, lactic acid, resorcinol, panthenol and isoceteth-20. This peeling solution, combined with a Retinol Solution, can substantially improve the appearance of the skin.

What is a Rejuvenize Peel?

A Rejuvenate Peel is a stronger chemical peel designed to improve skin texture, tone, and clarity.

How does a Rejuvenize Peel work?

A Rejuvenize Peel uses salicylic, mandelic, malic, and phytic acids combined with resorcinol, panthenol, and Quillaja Saponaria bark extract to revitalize the skin. It penetrates the deeper layers of the skin to exfoliate dead skin cells, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and stimulate collagen production.

What skin concerns does a Rejuvenize Peel treat?

Similarly to the other peels offered at PRYSI Cosmetic Surgery, the Rejuvenize Peel addresses moderate imperfection on the skin. These can include fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, sunspots, and age spots.

Is there any downtime after a Rejuvenize Peel?

Compared to other, more aggressive peels, downtime after a Rejuvenize Peel is minimal while yielding comparable results. Peeling and redness are common for several days following the treatment.

How many Rejuvenize Peels are needed for optimal results?

The amount of treatment needed will vary from person to person, but typically a series of three to six treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart, is recommended for the best results.
