QUICK LINKS
An endoscopic brow lift, or forehead lift, is a surgical procedure designed to reverse the effects of aging and gravity. Brow lifts essentially tightens the soft tissues of your forehead, smooths wrinkles, and lift your eyebrows to give your face a more youthful appearance. Dr. Mark Prysi is a talented brow lift surgeon who can take years off of your face’s appearance. His skill is in creating natural-looking results that make it difficult for anyone to tell that you’ve had any work done. Because of his body of work, Dr. Prysi has been recognized as the “Best Plastic Surgeon in Southwest Florida” by Naples Daily News for seven years in a row and named one of the “Best Plastic Surgeons in America” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America.
Brow Lift Candidates
You may be a candidate for brow lift surgery if you have one or more of the following conditions:
- A sagging or drooping eyebrow, especially if it’s contributing to sagging upper eyelids
- Horizontal creases on your forehead
- Frown lines between your eyebrows
- Furrows across the top of your nose
If you are considering brow lift surgery in Naples, you should be a non-smoker in good physical and psychological health. You should also be free of any medical conditions which could impair your recovery or put you at heightened surgical risk. Dr. Prysi will discuss your motivation and goals for surgery to determine if a brow lift is right for you. In some cases, an eyebrow lift may be combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as a facelift, eyelid lift, or lip augmentation.
It is important that patients have realistic goals for their surgery, as well as a positive outlook. Any type of cosmetic procedure is a private and personal decision and should be done for you, and you alone.
The Brow Lift Procedure
An endoscopic brow lift is an outpatient procedure that can take several hours or more, depending on your cosmetic concerns. Anesthesia is administered to prevent you from feeling anything during surgery. Dr. Prysi begins by making incisions in your scalp behind the hairline. Through the incisions, he inserts an endoscope, a thin tube with a video camera attached, to reposition, alter, or remove excess skin and tissue and muscle which causes wrinkling and lines. Then, he will correct a low-positioned or sagging brow.
Finally, Dr. Prysi closes the incisions with sutures and places a surgical bandage. Incisions from an endoscopic brow lift are totally hidden within the hairline, so patients do not have to worry about visible scarring.
Recovering from Brow Lift
After a brow lift, you will notice some puffiness, tenderness, and bruising discoloration. These side effects will disappear within a few weeks. Ice packs can be used around the eyes to reduce any swelling. Patients may also feel a tight feeling across their forehead, though any discomfort can be controlled with medication.
One to two weeks immediately following your brow lift, you should rest as much as possible. It’s best to avoid bending, heavy lifting, and straining, which can cause excess bleeding and other complications. You will be able to conceal any discoloration with makeup after about a week. Dr. Prysi will meet with you several times at his Naples, FL office to check your healing progress and clear you to return to work, exercise, and your normal routine.
Patients can see final results as early as six months. Sunscreen should be worn daily, and a healthy lifestyle should be maintained to extend your surgical results.
